Jenna Spinei developed her Inform Your Creative Process Through Movement Workshop in 2014, for IdeasTap, London, in an effort to inspire individuals of all mediums and backgrounds to incorporate movement into their creative rituals and practice. She has since brought it internationally to participants in Europe and the United States. The workshop is heavily informed by Kestenberg Movement Analysis, the Bartenieff Fundamentals of Developmental Movement and Authentic Movement. Her workshops begin with a guided experiential anatomy meditation to facilitate body mind connection and centering. This is followed by a series of movement exercises designed to explore body and space boundaries, finding inspiration through imagery that arises. There is time for both solo practice and harvesting the energy of the group. Participants form connections with others by witnessing their movements in the space, through discussion and sharing movement. The workshop incorporates reflection through drawing and writing about images, sensations and emotions invoked by movement. Her work focuses on accessing the rich imagery and inspiration held in the body. Jenna mindfully incorporates knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics into her movement sessions. Previous movement experience is not necessary.
